Introducing the Next Student Government Executive Board

THE LION'S ROAR February 11, 2019     News

By Reese Cohen

On January 17th, all three presidential candidates delivered their speeches and at the end of the day Daniel Lampert was elected as the 2019 Student Body President, with Lior Ben-David as the new Student Body Vice President. Jessica Baden was elected as Student Government Chief of Staff, and Alexandra Zelman as  Communications Chairperson. Check out the quotes below to hear from your newest executive board.

Daniel Lampert

President

“I spoke in my election speech about two main goals of my presidency; one being strengthening the community. Last year Aidan started it with Shabbat dinners for some of the grades at his house and I want to continue that and grow it so everyone finds their place at Schechter. My other main idea was leadership I want to make sure that people who want to lead are given the place to lead and then people who are in leadership positions are given the skills so they can lead effectively and student government initiatives are executed efficiently.”

Lior Ben-David

Vice President

“The thing I’m most excited for as Vice-President is helping new groups of students get involved in the community. Personally, I gained a lot of real-world skills from planning different initiatives and being an active member of the student-body. I’m really looking forward to giving new students the opportunity to learn these skills. I think having different students involved in the planning and running of initiatives will not only be a great experience for them, but it will also make the initiatives a lot more fun for the student body.”

Jessica Baden

Chief of Staff

“I’m so excited to be Chief of Staff this year and to work closely with the executive board, student government, and the entire student body in order to make this year the best possible.”

Alex Zelman

Communications Chairperson

“As communications chairperson I am looking forward to not only becoming to not only becoming more active in student government but also to pushing others to get involved. I cannot wait until there are new members of student government eager to plan more activities and are on the constant lookout for more ways to get themselves involved in the community. I know that with my other peers on the executive board we will work our hardest to make this year amazing!”
